Things I’m loving at the minute

So I’m loving a variety of different things at the moment, here’s what they are.

Waterstones Cafe

There’s just something so relaxing about sitting in Waterstones cafe and having a cup of tea and some cake to escape the hussle and bussle of the city. It can get busy sometimes in there, but I still find it nice and relaxing. I like to write blogs, check my emails, go on my social media and sometimes just switch off technology and chill. Whether it’s a tasty toastie or sandwhich or a yummy treat I always enjoy what I have and enjoy my time here.

Ballet

I returned to dance in January after having some time off for illness and I can’t tell you how good it feels to put on some dance shoes on again and dance. The class I attend is very good, stretches and strengthens my muscles, keeps me in training and ballet is a great foundation for alot of forms of dance. It’s always good to dance and feel energised at the start of the week.

No 7 Protect and Perfect Intense Advanced Serum

I’ve been using this for a while now, but hadn’t used it every day until recently and have seen such a difference in my skin. It has improved my skin tone, calmed down and removed blemishes, brightened my skin and and my fine lines on my forehead seem to be less visible. It doesn’t irritate my skin which I was surprised with and Impressed with and it gives a lovely glow and radiance. My favourite product at the moment.

Going to the gym

I’ve always been active and loved to keep fit through dance and the gym but again had some time off because of illness, so to be back at the gym feels amazing. I’ve started a little routine for myself by doing a certain amount of cardio, weights and stretching then will try switching it up the fitter I get and want to try new things.

SIX the musical

I saw this musical in April and I’m so glad I did. It’s fun, uplifting, clever and full of zest. The story follows the 6 ex wifes of Henry VIII whilst they battle it out in a singing competition to be the lead singer of a group. You can see more about it in my Day Out in London blog post that I did recently, and it’s a great musical. I’m still singing the songs now.

Journaling

Something which I’ve discovered recently is Journaling. Some of the presents which my mum got me for Christmas was a ‘Remember to be Mindful’ journal where you write down every day what worked for you, what didn’t work so well that day, a moments reflection and what can you try and improve on for tomorrow. I also got a journal called ‘Confidence The Journal’ by Katie Piper which has daily affirmations, tips, exercises and lots of space to journal and put down your thoughts. It’s so nice to just get your thoughts down for that day and also look back at previous journal entries that you’ve done. I also find it quite therapeutic.

My new camera

I bit the bullet last month and bought myself a camera to take better quality vlogs and photographs. I opted for the Cannon G7X Mark II camera and decided to get it as part of a vloggers kit, whereby you also get a small tripod and SD card with it. It’s a lovely camera and I’m currently getting all excited when I’m taking photos and videos and wanting to learn about all the different features and different things you can do with it.

Heels Class

Something which I’m loving at the minute is heels class. It’s fun, slick, empowering, keeps me in training & is such a great class. The girls who teach us say their mission is to want the dancers to feel super confident and empowered whilst taking a class which is great, and by the end of it you definitely feel like this. Heel work is something I’ve grown to learn to love and enjoy as much as I do street and commercial dancing.

Yoga

I had my first yoga class in mid April after reading about how it had improved people’s fitness, flexibility, quality of life and energy levels. I had also seen some incredible transformations and before and afters on the Internet and could clearly see how it had Improved people’s mobility and flexibility, some of which were very unfit or immobile and it was just incredible seeing what yoga had done for them. The first class was a challenge and I although I thought I was quite flexible, going in to some of the different yoga poses in class I really didn’t feel like it. I find each class easier then the last but it’s always a challenge, and I feel great after and the next day. I’m very intrigued to see how I progress and how my journey with yoga goes.

Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium

Upon visiting this beautiful little cat cafe last month, I was treated to a lovely little session of relaxing and playing with cats whilst having a signature cocktail from the cafes menu. The hour and a half flew by and it’s a fun and different way to spend a morning or afternoon in London. The cats love being fussed and it’s actually quite relaxing and therapeutic interacting with and being around them.

That’s from me for the time being, I’ll be back with another blog post soon.
