I lost faith in finding a good shampoo & conditioner suitable for my hair type. I couldn’t find any high street shampoos and conditioners that worked well on my thick, dry hair. And then I went for professional hair care which did make a difference but I still wasn’t 100% happy with how my hair turned out. All of the high street ones wern’t moisterising enough, and some of the professional ones were either still not moisterising enough or made my hair get greasy quite quickly.

I came across Redkens acidic color gloss range after browsing online and hearing positive reviews and posts on beauty websites and places like Tik Tok. Redken seemed to have a good repuation so I bought both the shampoo and conditioner in the acidic color gloss range.
My hair has always been dry but even more so since I started to dye it in to cover a few greys that were sprouting. I’ve had it dyed professionally for about 12 years now. I get it colour matched to my natural hair colour and It’s great, however, it still has chemicals in it which contributes in making my hair really dry.

So I tried the shampoo first. I found it lathered really well with water and had quite a strong fragrance to it. At least it smelled clean! But I can imagine that some people wouldn’t like that. I didn’t have a problem with it personaly, and I could see how much more hydrated it looked already. My hair also didn’t feel stripped or dry after using it. I tried the conditioner and put it on 3 quaters of my hair starting at the ends and I left it in for about 3 minutes so it would be more conditioned. Towards the end I put a bit in the rest on my scalp and the back of my head and rinsed it all off together
My hair fealt squeeky clean afterwards and I let it air dry. Once dried my hair fealt super soft to touch and looked silky smooth and shiny. I was really suprised as my hair is just so dry and I hadn’t had as nice hair since walking out of a hair salon. It looked just so much healthier, hydrated and glossy. It also looked more vibrant.

The shampoo and conditioner are:
Sulphate free, restrengthens the hair back to it’s healthiest pH, gives shine and extends professional colour vibrancy. You can also get an activated glass gloss treatment which is supposed to provide a glass like shine. I havn’t bought or used this yet but I might well do after the results of the shampoo and conditioner.
All in all, I’m extremely happy with the results that these products have given me. It’s restored and transformed my hair, and I will be sticking with this range for some time to come. If you have dry, coloured hair then this might be a good hair care regime for you. I wash my hair 2 – 3 times a week and I found that my hair still looked really nice in between washes.
A big thumbs up from me!
Until next time
