Nespresso Vertuo Next Coffee Machine review

So, I’ve been rather excited at receiving a huge box from Nespresso who very kindly sent me a box of goodies containing 3 boxes which included 12 coffee capsules, a tote bag, notebook, pen, travel mug and a Nespresso Vertuo Next Coffee Machine.

I was really excited and looking forward to unboxing and using my machine as I do like a good cup of coffee and I’ve heard some good things regarding Nespresso coffees and machines. I was well chuffed to not only get one but to be gifted one is just brilliant.

So, here’s my little review of the Vertuo Next Nespresso coffee machine, what I thought and some information about it.

I really like a good coffee. And in the past few years I’ve began to appreciate coffee alot more then I used to. And I mean, a good coffee. For example, since venturing in to coffee shops every now and then and tasting what a good coffee should taste like, I find it hard to buy and enjoy something that say you might get a supermarket. It’s just not the same as a coffee shop bought one and I just can’t bring myself to buy any from the store to have at home, which is kind of frustrating as I do have the urge to have a coffee at home at times. When you go to a coffee shop whether it be a Starbucks, Costa or one of those lovely little independent coffee shops that you can get, they seem to have that added special taste and wow to it that some of the cheaper instant at home coffees just don’t have.

I found the machine really easy to set up. You follow the instructions that you get by scanning a QR code with your smartphone in the instructions manual. The first thing I had to do was clean out the water tank and then do a rinse which cleans out the machine before you first use it. It was easy enough and only took a few minutes to complete.

Then I paired my machine to the Nespresso app. This was fairly easy to do and the benefits of doing this is that you are able to customise your coffee making experience.

The app once paired with your machine will then tell you when it’s time to empty the used capsules, refill the water tank and when to descale the machine. You can also personalise your coffee sizes on the machine through the app, manage your machine settings and have access to different coffee recipes.

Next I used the coffee machine for the first time by selecting one of the Coffee capsules that Nespresso sent me. I had a nice variety of 12 different capsules with different flavours and strengths. There as various different coffee sizes and types that you can have, I went for a coffee type called Gran Lungo and decided to have lots of milk in mine then put it in the fridge as I love iced coffees

So, on to the really cool part. The machine uses technology which recognises different capsules by reading a barcode on each capsule and adjusts the brewing parameters accordingly ensuring things like correct water, pressure and temperature for each specific coffee blend.

This machine is easy to use, easy to set up and heats up very quickly. There are a large variety of different coffee capsules to choose from ranging from around 55p to 85p and it’s also a good sized machine and doesn’t take up alot of room.

There are also extra things you can buy to go with it such as a milk frother which is nice if like me you like milky and frothy coffees and I’ll be buying some syrups to go with my coffees for sure.

Are you a coffee fan or have you purchased any of the Nespresso machines? Let me know in the comments below.

Until next time.

Natalie
