Happy New Year – Embracing 2025

I like New Year. Much more then I used to. The younger me saw it as a bit of a facade and didn’t get the fuss of celebrating just another year. The me nowadays enjoys and embraces New Year and sees at as a way to start afresh, set some nice goals and to achieve and try new things. A time to look back and reflect on things and implement changes.

I spent my New Years Eve having a nice cosy one watching some entertainment on the telly followed by the fireworks in London celebrating with a few Baby Guinness shots which is for those who don’t know is a coffee flavoured Kalua and some Baileys. (First time trying it, and I loved it!)

In 2024 I moved to London. I made the move to London in August which I’d wanted to do for a while. The time was right, my mental health was better and I felt ready to move on. I’ve been loving London and doing some nice things on my days off. I adore living here and am excited about my future and my career here which was a big reason why I wanted to move here. As well as loving London of course. I said farewell to Bristol which I’d lived in for about 10 years, which I was surprised at as the time went so fast there. I enjoyed my time there but I did feel that it was time to move on to pastures new.

Things I’d like to do in 2025

To get fitter and lose weight

I don’t mean go on a drastic diet, but think more like eating more healthier, switching up my diet, remembering to take my Rheal greens drink more consistently (as in daily) and moving my body more in different ways to how I did last year. One of the things I’ve said I’m going to try and do is yes eat more healthier, but don’t deny myself treats every now and then. I’ve set myself a goal to indulge and eat puddings or treats 3 days a week then be good for the other 4. That way, I can still indulge and reward myself from time to time without overdoing it or feeling guilty.

To do yoga more reguarly again

I haven’t been as consistent with yoga for quite a while now. Things like work or being tired can all get in the way of things like this but I’m super determined to make various changes this year and to do yoga more reguarly is one of them. I always feel so much better after I’ve done it and it really helps with my flexibility and mobility. I’m determined to be one of those people one day that uploads some yoga flows in the future and look really good/experienced at it.

Go to bed and wake up earlier

When I have done this a few times in the past, I just felt so much better for it. I felt refreshed and had an overall feeling of wellbeing. I want to do this regularly now and be one of those people who get to get things done in the morning and also relax a little. Yoga sessions in the morning sometimes would be good too.

Do things to work towards performing again

I took time off for work in the past couple of years for my mental health and now I’m back to the norm, I want to get back to performing again. Things like getting new head and body shots and new showreels, dance classes more reguarly, switching up my diet, keep practising singing at least twice a week and keep working on my flexibility and dance technique both at home and in classes.

Start jogging

Jogging is something that’s never come naturaly to me. It’s strange, put me in a gym, dance class or go for a walk and I’m fine but literally about a couple of minutes jogging and that’s enough for me. Maybe it’s because I’ve never really given it a chance? Or at least tried to get better it? Anyhow, jogging doesn’t come easy to me which I’m determined to try at some point this year and get better it. I’d love to work towards some sort of event like a 5k run then a 10k when I’m better at jogging.

To drink more water

I realised last year that I wasn’t drinking enough water as I should be. So towards the end of last year I started to drink a bit more and have noticed that my skin is noticeable clearer and I don’t feel as tired. So I wish to be consistent with this and see if I notice any more changes.

Use a fitness tracker app

I’ve come across an app called My Fitness Pal which can do things like help track and keep a record of what you’re eating, the amount of calories in each food, what exercise you do and how many calories it burns. It will be helpful for me to track my health and fitness goals and keep a record of my diet and exercise.

So those are some of my goals for 2025. Alot are health and fitness related but I like to keep fit and healthy and it gives me such a sense of wellbeing to eat and be healthier. I find it really helps how I feel with my health conditions too and helps me feel less sluggish or down. I’m ready for 2025 and ready to embrace what lies ahead. I hope you feel the same way too and that 2025 is a good one for you.

With love and best wishes,

Natalie
