Autumn musings

Wow, I can’t believe that it’s Autumn already. I don’t know about you but I find that as I get older time goes so fast. I remember as a kid everything going so slow and feeling like you had forever and a day until next Christmas or until you got older. I was never much of a fan of Autumn when I was younger, but recently I’ve grown to appreciate this time of year and make the most of it. For example I won’t have a winge about the weather and how cold it is, and instead enjoy all the beautiful leaves, comfy clothes and cosy nights in and things that you can do this time of year. I’m ‘cosying’ it up as we speak in my pajamas with a hot chocolate, cream & marshmellows and have lit a ‘cinnamon stick’ scented candle from Yankee Candle and am about to watch some films. (It’s a sick day.) So to make myself feel a little bit better, why not have a nice cosy, day at home.

I’ve already planned my day out as well as making plans for the rest of October. I plan to watch the film The Holiday at 9:00pm (very cosy film) and I’ve decided to watch the film Jingle all the Way at about 3:00pm (I know it’s ridiculously early for Xmas but it’s a very cosy, feel good film.) I’ll also be doing some journalling later this evening whilst having a nice herbal tea and have plans to have a nice relaxing, bubble bath before the evening starts.

So, on the subject of making the most of things like Autumn, I bought myself a ticket to Ally Pallys fireworks festival on Saturday 2nd November, which for those of you who don’t know is a firework spectacular and festival at Alexandra Park. Ally Pallys fireworks festival is one of the biggest and most well known fireworks and bonfire night activities in London, they have a load of different things to do on the day and evening such as a funfair, fireworks display, bonfire, DJs, tribute acts, ice skating, brass bands and a German beer festival. I’ll be doing a blog on this, so look out for that next month.

I don’t have plans for Halloween this year so far, but I think I might try a few Halloween make up looks. I’ve enjoyed doing different spooky looks in the past for Haloween such as Wednesday Adams, an evil Cheshire Cat, Day of The Dead sugar skull & Elphaba from Wicked. So I will be looking forward to seeing what I do for Halloween this year.

For those that love dogs, there is a beautiful little dog cafe with pugs in London called Cuppapug which you might have seen on one of my previous blog posts, and they are doing an event called ‘Puggaween’ near Halloween which will have beautiful little pugs dressed up in Halloween costumes, spooky decorations and Haloween themed treats and drinks for you and the pugs. I loved visiting the cafe earlier this year and If I’m not working then I might pay a visit to them for the Puggaween event later this month.
